R22, also known as chlorodifluoromethane, or HCFC-22 for short, with the chemical formula CHClF2, is a hydrogen-containing chlorofluorocarbon, a colorless gas with a slight sweet smell. As R-22 belongs to the HCFC class of substances (the second batch of restricted ODS substances Class II Ozone-depleting Substances), which is a gas that has a destructive effect on the high-altitude ozone layer (ODP) and the greenhouse effect (GWP).
According to the Montreal Protocol, it has stopped use and production in developed countries and can still produce in developing countries, but its production and use deadline are 2030.
Mainly used as raw materials for the production of tetrafluoroethylene and refrigerants, sprays, pesticides, etc. It is widely used in household air conditioners, commercial refrigeration, central air conditioners, large centrifugal compressor chillers, etc.
